Donate to Support Tree Research & Education

Our annual goal is to raise $50,000 a year for tree research and education. We do this through direct online donations, events like silent auctions, and through the annual Tour Des Trees.

1. Donate Directly Through Canada Helps

When considering whether to donate to the TREE Fund or how much to give, think about this:

  • What is more fundamental to the health and sustainability of a tree than its root system?
  • What is more fundamental to the health and sustainability of arboriculture than research and education?

Tax receipts will be issued for $20 or more, but only if the donor’s name and address are clearly printed and complete. For donations less than $20, please indicate if a receipt is required.

2. Support Team Canada at the Tour Des Trees

One of the key ways we raise money is through Team Canada, a group of cyclists that makes up Team Canada in the annual Tour Des Trees.

Every full-Tour participant commits to raising a minimum of $3,500 for TREE Fund in addition to cycling 500+ miles in a week, rain or shine.

One hundred percent of your donation goes to tree research and educationCorporate partners cover the cost of food and accommodation for the riders.

Help Team Canada help our trees by donating to their campaigns. Links to individual rider campaigns:

“It is our great pleasure to share our support for the Canadian TREE Fund  annually in their efforts to broaden their philanthropic reach to assist budding arboricultural enthusiasts in the business of making a positive environmental impact.”
Melissa & Cliff Hoegler Owners, BC Plant Health Care
“My annual donation to the Canadian TREE Fund helps to unlock some of the common challenges and issues that face our industry. Funding research ensures that the Arboricultural industry is keeping pace, and even getting ahead of the new challenges and issues. With trees being our business, arborists need to commit to staying abreast of new tree research data to gain a better knowledge and understanding of what is one of the world’s most valuable resources. The Canadian TREE Fund helps us achieve this goal.”
Phil Dickie, Fast Forest, Kitchener, Ontario
“Trees and forests are an essential part of life, and there is no greater time than now, to protect them.  In my role as a municipal employee, I see many challenges facing our communities.  How do we manage our trees and forests if they are not adapted to climate change? How do we improve the health of our soils?  How do we share latest tree care and stewardship information to land owners, who are the gate keepers of Canada’s trees and forests?  These are just a few of the challenging questions facing Practitioners.  My annual donation to the Canadian Tree Fund is helping find science based solutions while offering much-needed support in our local communities.”
Heidi Breen, Municipal Stewardship Specialist,, ISA Ontario Arborist ON-1018A
“Donating to the Canadian TREE Fund is my way of assuring that my industry is moving forward with science, technology and best practices. Research results come back to the industry and I am able to apply the results to my own operations at Central Tree Care.”
Mike Spencley, Owner, Central Tree Care, Scarborough, Ontario
