Harold Van Dyke Bursary

Harold Van Dyke founded Richmond Hill Tree Service and Forestry Company Ltd. in 1960.  He was driven by a commitment to providing professional tree care with a quality-driven focus. His dedication to having certified and knowledgeable staff, coupled with a strong emphasis on environmental respect and customer service, reflects a comprehensive approach to arboriculture.

Harold’s active involvement in various organizations such as the Ontario Chapter of The International Society of Arboriculture, the Ontario Commercial Arborist Association, Tree Care Industry Association, Landscape Ontario, the Whitchurch Stouffville Chamber of Commerce, and the Better Business Bureau underscores his commitment to staying engaged in the industry and community.

Moreover, Harold’s role as an owner-operator and his emphasis on mentoring young arborists, as well as providing funding for training and certification courses, highlights a strong commitment to the growth and development of the next generation of professionals in the field. This approach not only enhances the industry’s skill set but also contributes to the overall strength and competence of the workforce.
