About
This Award is in memory of Hope Eaton.
She came from rural Nova Scotia to Ontario in 1959. Hope Eaton dedicated her life to her family and her community. She led with an open heart, learning, and listening to what people were experiencing in their lives, so that she could better understand not just the circumstances but the why. Why were they in the position of hardship? She saw the marginalized people and gave them opportunity to thrive. Her care for her community was unwavering. Hope truly understood that building community is about learning to understand one another and that’s what protects lives.
Hope Eaton was Nick’s grandmother; she encouraged him to follow his passion and always follow through (Nick Ramirez, owner-operator of Eaton Tree Solutions Inc.).
The Hope Eaton Award was established to further support promising new arborists and solidify the growth and development of the next generation of professional arborists. Since Hope had moved from Nova Scotia to Ontario, the Hope Eaton Award is open to applicants in both provinces.
